Summer is always the biggest season for movies. Now that it’s officially Autumn, I’m reflecting on a few of my favorites.
I adore going to the theater. This is going to sound a little cliche, but movies are such a great adventure away from the day-to-day. I can tell that a movie is particularly good when I feel an oncoming of sad emotions around the film’s halfway mark; because that’s when I realize that the movie eventually has to end and this whole experience is almost over… 🙁
Here are my top two favorites of the 2015 Summer Season. Ready…Action!
(don’t worry, I didn’t include any spoilers)
I’ve loved dinosaurs ever since I could make conscious decisions about my preferences. Knowing that they dig up T-rex skeletons in Montana and Utah even helped me get through my grade school geography class.
As a huge fan of the first movie, Jurassic Park and the franchise, Jurassic World shot right up to the top of my Summer Must-See List. While it didn’t have the same feel as the classic, it was still great fun and visually awesome.
When the Jurassic Park theme played, there must have been a dust or pollen cloud because my eyes immediately became all watery.
Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation
I think that Tom Cruise is one of the definitive action-movie stars. I define that as an actor or actress whose real name could be used as the fictional character’s name and it wouldn’t make any difference to the story.
“You’re too late, Mr. Cruise! The stolen diamonds are already in deep space!” says the main villain. Mission Impossible is an action thriller that makes your heart-rate match the speed of the getaway car’s engine and it’s great!
These are just two of many great movies I had the privilege to see this summer. There was also Mr.Holmes, Trainwreck, Avengers: Age of Ultron, I’d need several more pages to cover them all…
So I’ll let you do it! Head to the comments section below and share your Summer 2015 movie thoughts and if there are any upcoming ones that you’re looking forward to.
(Hint hint…Star Wars!!!)
