One way a great city differentiates itself from the rest of the world is through public art – a conversation between viewers and artists that explores themes and celebrates the space that surrounds them both. Over the coming months, we’re going to be providing a virtual tour of the artwork installed at Equity properties in cities across the nation.
First up is the brand-new artwork greeting residents at San Diego’s Vantage Pointe, which was installed on June 10 and was designed by Equity’s own Diane Lewis, assisted by Lyndi Parrett and fabricated by Sign Age, Inc.. The piece, titled “The Vantages,” is an elegant interpretation of a directional sign, pointing the way to natural landmarks that can be seen from an apartment window – Catalina Island, Balboa Island, Coronado Island or the Cuyamaca Mountains. Each blade also notes the actual distance in miles from the sculpture to the iconic destinations.
