When Christine and Adam moved from San Francisco to New York’s Parc East Apartments in August, they packed light. Really light.
“The first night we had a blow-up mattress but no blankets. We used rolled-up sweatshirts for pillows,” Christine says. But getting the apartment right – without breaking the bank – was a priority for both of them, so they rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
“Adam and I love being somewhere that feels like home, so when we moved to New York it was our priority to get comfortable as quickly as possible,” Christine says. “Adam had three weeks before he started school, and I had moved here without a job, so we spent all our time decorating. Which was really awesome.”
A key element in their decorating plan was the use of decals. In particular, she always wanted to have a chandelier, but they weren’t able to put anything in the ceiling. “We were looking for solutions that didn’t put a lot of holes in the walls,” Christine says. “The decals were the right fit.”
