Earth Day may be behind us, but that doesn’t mean the opportunity to give new life to old stuff has passed you by. Equity Residential’s small electronics recycling program, in partnership with Waste Management, is ongoing. Special collection boxes will be available throughout the year in your community to collect your old cell phones, smartphones, PDAs, MP3 players and accessories (including chargers, cables, earbuds, fully discharged or dead batteries).
Do you have other items you’d like to recycle but don’t know where to go? Check out Earth911.com or 1800recycling.com. Both can direct you to the nearest location to donate or recycle all types of items. Just enter your zip code and the item you’d like to recycle, and the websites will do all the research for you. You can even be green on the go by downloading the free “My Recycle List” smartphone app, which will help get your recycling done in the least amount of trips. Most recyclers will accept material for free, although some will include a charge for larger items.
We hope you’ll join us in doing what you can to help create a greener community and planet. Thank you!
