One way a great city differentiates itself from the rest of the world is through public art â€“ a conversation between viewers and artists that explores themes and celebrates the space that surrounds them both. Over the coming months, weâ€™re going to be providing a virtual tour of the artwork installed at Equity properties in cities across the nation.
First up is the brand-new artwork greeting residents at San Diegoâ€™s Vantage Pointe, which was installed on June 10 and was designed by Equityâ€™s own Diane Lewis, assisted by Lyndi Parrett and fabricated by Sign Age, Inc.. The piece, titled “The Vantages,” is an elegant interpretation of a directional sign, pointing the way to natural landmarks that can be seen from an apartment window â€“ Catalina Island, Balboa Island, Coronado Island or the Cuyamaca Mountains. Each blade also notes the actual distance in miles from the sculpture to the iconic destinations.
